All I hear is: irrelevant metrics are bad, misaligned metrics are bad, incomplete measurement is bad, focusing on just one outcome is bad. That’s all well-known among statisticians and analysts. I don’t think anyone would argue that you need a good designer in order to have something to test or measure. However, I don’t see how this translates to “trust your gut”, necessarily…
